Timberline Steep wants this site to be usable by as many people as possible, including readers using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnification or reduced-motion settings.
1. Standard we aim for
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. This is a self-assessment rather than a third-party audit; we test with keyboard navigation, the built-in screen readers on macOS and Windows, and browser zoom to 200 %.
2. What we have implemented
- Semantic HTML structure with one main heading per page and a logical heading order
- A visible “skip to main content” link as the first focusable element
- Text and background colour combinations tested for at least 4.5:1 contrast on body copy
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images; decorative images marked as such
- Full keyboard operability, including the menu, tabs, accordions and cookie banner
- Visible focus styles that are not removed by our stylesheet
- Respect for the
prefers-reduced-motionsetting — all animation is disabled when your system requests it - Layout that reflows to a single column without horizontal scrolling down to 320 px
- Data tables with proper header cells and captions
3. Known limitations
Some older review pages contain tables that require horizontal scrolling on very narrow screens. A small number of archive photographs have shorter alt text than we would now write. We are working through both as pages are revised.
4. Reporting a barrier
If you encounter something on this site you cannot access, please tell us. Email accounts@affiliate.alliceteaspot.com or call 970-264-3946 between 9:00 and 17:00 Mountain Time, Monday to Friday. Include the page address and a description of the problem. We aim to acknowledge within two business days and to provide the content in an alternative format on request while we work on a fix.
5. Third-party content
We do not control the accessibility of external retailer websites we link to. If a destination site presents a barrier, we would still like to hear about it — it factors into whether we keep recommending them.
